Since you already have y isolated on one equation it's easy. Plug in 3x-11 as for for the second equation. Solve and find what x equals. Then plug the x into the first equation to find y. Hope this helps!

\begin{cases}
 y=\boxed{3x-11}\\
 y- 3x=-13\\
------\\
\boxed{3x-11}- 3x=-13
\end{cases}

solve for "x"

Find the solution to the system of equations given below:<br> x=-4<br> -5x-4y=16<br><br> PLS HELP
poizon [28]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Since x=-4 plug in the -4 into the equation to find y,

-5(-4)-4y=16

20-4y=16                                                                                                                             -20       -20                                                                                                                   __________

-4y=-4

-4y/-4=-4/-4

___________

y=1

So now you found both x and y so plug in both now to check if both are correct.

-5(-4)-4(1)=16

20-4=16

16=16

So both y and x are correct.

Hope this helps!:)

To which set(s) of numbers does the number sqrt -16 belong? Select all that apply.
Mice21 [21]
<span>The square root of -16 is an imaginary number and a complex number. Sqrt(-16)=4i. We use the i to indicate that the number is imaginary since there is no number that can be multiplied by itself to get a negative number (a negative times a negative is a positive, and a positive times a positive is also a positive). So the use of i tells you immediately that it's an imaginary number. You can tell the number is complex because it has both a real and an imaginary part and could be written in the form a+bi, where a is a real number and bi is an imaginary number. In this specific case, the real part (a) is 0 and the imaginary part (bi) is 4i.</span>
