... There are no points in the circuit where the current splits up.
... The current has the same value at every point in the circuit.
... The current through every circuit element has the same value, but the voltages across them may be different.
... The sum of the voltages across every circuit element is equal to the voltage between the ends of the circuit (where the battery is connected).
In parallel electric circuits:
... The current has more than one possible path to travel.
... There are one or more points in the circuit where the current splits up, and parts of the current proceed along different paths.
... There are one or more points in the circuit where currents from different paths combine, and proceed together along the same path.
... The voltage across each branch of the circuit has the same value, but the current through them may be different.
... The sum of the currents entering and leaving any point in the circuit is zero.
