Adamu has 25 Cards

This involves basic arithmetic calculations and simultaneous equations.

Let the following letters represent the number of cards each has;

A: ADAMU

F: FUNKE

S: SHEHU

K: KWAME

T: TANKO

  • If adamu gives funke 5 cards, he will have as many as tanko. Thus; A - 5 = T  --- eq 1
  • If funke gives adamu 4 cards, he will have as many as kwame. Thus; A + 4 = K  --- eq 2
  • Funke and adamu have a total of 13 more cards than the total that kwame and tanko have. Thus; A + F = K + T + 13   --- eq 3
  • Adamu has 2 cards more than what Shehu has. Thus; A - 2 = S  --- eq 4

- From online research, the Total Number of cards is 134 and not 133. Thus;

A + F + K + S + T = 134  --- eq 5

Let's put A - 5 = T and A + 4 = K in eq 3 to get;

A + F = (A + 4) + (A - 5) + 13

A + F = 2A + 12

F = 2A - A + 12

F = A + 12

Let's put A - 2 = S ; F = A + 12 ; A - 5 = T and A + 4 = K into eq 5 to get;

A + A + 12  + A + 4 + A - 2 + A - 5 = 134

Simplifying gives;

5A + 9 = 134

5A = 134 - 9

5A = 125

A = 125/5

A = 25

Consider the expression 25 – 10 ÷ 2 + 3.
Tems11 [23]

Given:

The expression is:

25-10\div 2+3

To find:

Part A: The expression using parentheses so that the expression equals 23.

Part B: The expression using parentheses so that the expression equals 3.

Solution:

Part A:

In option A,

(25-10)\div 2+3=15\div 2+3

(25-10)\div 2+3=7.5+3                       [Using BODMAS]

(25-10)\div 2+3=10.5

In option B,

25-10\div (2+3)=25-10\div 5

25-10\div (2+3)=25-2                      [Using BODMAS]

25-10\div (2+3)=23

In option C,

(25-10)\div (2+3)=15\div 5

(25-10)\div (2+3)=3

In option D,

25-(10\div 2)+3=25-5+3

25-(10\div 2)+3=28-5                     [Using BODMAS]

25-(10\div 2)+3=23

After the calculation, we have 25-10\div (2+3)=23 and 25-(10\div 2)+3=23.

Therefore, the correct options are B and D.

Part B: From part A, it is clear that

(25-10)\div (2+3)=3

Therefore, the correct option is C.

Please please help me with this
MrMuchimi

Answer:

y = 9x - 11

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation of a line in slope- intercept form is

y = mx + c ( m is the slope and c the y- intercept )

Calculate m using the slope formula

m = (y₂ - y₁ ) / (x₂ - x₁ )

with (x₁, y₁ ) = (- 3, - 38) and (x₂, y₂ ) = (8, 61)

m = \frac{61+38}{8+3} = \frac{99}{11} = 9, thus

y = 9x + c ← is the partial equation

To find c substitute either of the 2 points into the partial equation

Using (8, 61), then

61 = 72 + c ⇒ c = 61 - 72 = - 11

y = 9x - 11 ← equation of lie
