Mathematics

Answer:

AB + BC = AC

BC = AC - AB

5x + 6 = 37 - (2 x + 3) = 37 -2 x - 3 = 34 - 2 x

7 x = 34 - 6 = 28

x = 4

BC = 5 x + 6 = 5 * 4 + 6 = 26

Check:

AB = 2 x + 3 = 2 * 4 + 3 = 11

AB + BC = 26 + 11 = 37

Jim is painting the inside of a circular helicopter pad. How many cans of paint would he need if the pad is 50 feet across and e
Inessa [10]

Answer:

Number of can needed to paint inside of the circular helicopter pad = 1

Step-by-step explanation:

The circular pad is given to be 50 feet across.

⇒ Circumference of the circular pad = 50 feet

⇒ 2π·r = 50

⇒ π·r = 25

⇒ r = 7.96 feet

Now, Area of the circular pad = π·r²

⇒ Area = 3.14 × 7.96²

⇒ Area = 198.96 square feet

Now, one can of paint covers 200 feet² area of the pad

Hence, 198 feet² area can also be painted by using one can.

Therefore, number of can needed to paint inside of the circular helicopter pad = 1

James has mapped his seat and his teacher's seat on the coordinate plane at (0,10) and (–4,6). Find the distance between their s
wlad13 [49]

Answer:

Distance between their seats is 4√2 units.

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that James mapped his seat and teacher's seat at (0,10) and (-4,6) on the coordinate plane.

So, distance between their seats= distance between the points (0,10) and (-4,6)

                                                     =\sqrt{(-4-0)^{2}+(6-10)^{2}}

                                                     =\sqrt{(-4)^{2}+(-4)^{2}}=\sqrt{16+16}

                                                     =\sqrt{32}=4\sqrt{2}units

A line has a slope of 9 and passes through the point (4,7). What is its equation in point-slope form?
Mariulka [41]

Answer:

Y = 9X-29

Step-by-step explanation:

y = mx + b

P1 : ( 4 , 7 )

m = 9

using equation of line ,

y = mx + b

7 = ( 9 ) (4 ) + b

7 - 36 = b

b = -29 ,

hence equation of line is ,

y = 9x - 29  answer
