Jack and Jill have been studying a population of lizards on a hillside for over three decades. Throughout this time, they have n

oticed that some of the lizards have begun to eat vegetation, but the majority of the population continues to eat insects. Based on what you know about natural selection, what do you predict will happen?

Answer:

These few lizards who eat vegetation will be able to survive and reproduce better than those who eat insects. Since for the most part don't have to compete for resources with other lizards they have a better chance for survival than those who eat insects.
