Answer:

g = 40/9

Step-by-step explanation:

What is the first term of the fibonacci like sequence whose second term is 4 and whose fith term is 22?
bagirrra123 [75]

Answer: -2

Step-by-step explanation:

The information in the question can be used to form an equation which goes thus:

2nd term = a + d = 4 ...... i

5th term = a + 4d = 22 ....... ii

From equation i

a = 4 - d ........ iii

Put equation iii into ii

a + 4d = 22

(4 - d) + 4d = 22

4 - d + 4d = 22

4 + 3d = 22

3d = 22 - 4

3d = 18

d = 18/3

d = 6

Commons difference is 6

Since a + d = 4

a + 6 = 4

a = 4 - 6

a = -2

The first term is -2

CAn you help me with ratios? Mrs. Sturkie mixed 3 quarts of blue paint and 2 quarts of red paint to make purple paint to her cla
fredd [130]
So as we already know the ratio is 3 quarts blue paint to 2 quarts red paint, also written as 3:2. if she only has 1 quart blue paint she will need half of a quart of red paint because the ratio has to remain the same amount. if you multiply one side then you must multiply the other. same goes with division. If she only has 1 quart of red paint then that shows she divided the 2 red by 2. There fore you would have to divided the 3 by 2 in order to get 1.5 which would then make the ratio 1.5:1

For f(x) = 3x +1 and g(x) = x2 – 6, find (f- g)(x).
Fiesta28 [93]

Answer:

\boxed{\sf (f-g)(x) = -{x}^{2}  + 3x + 7}

Given:

\sf f(x) = 3x + 1 \\ \sf g(x) =  {x}^{2}  - 6

To find:

\sf (f - g)(x) = f(x) - g(x)

Step-by-step explanation:

\sf \implies(f - g)x = f(x) - g(x) \\  \\ \sf \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:    = (3x + 1) - ( {x}^{2}  - 6) \\  \\ \sf \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:    = (3x + 1)  + (-  {x}^{2}  + 6) \\  \\ \sf \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:    = 3x + 1 -  {x}^{2}  + 6 \\  \\ \sf \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:    = - {x}^{2}  + 3x + 1 + 6 \\  \\ \sf \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:    =  -{x}^{2}  + 3x + 7

4/5 divided by 1/3 plus 1/5 minus 3/5
r-ruslan [8.4K]

Answer:

  \frac{\frac{4}{5}}{\frac{1}{3}+\frac{1}{5}-\frac{3}{5}}=-12

Step-by-step explanation:

Considering the expression

\frac{\frac{4}{5}}{\frac{1}{3}+\frac{1}{5}-\frac{3}{5}}

Solution Steps:

\frac{\frac{4}{5}}{\frac{1}{3}+\frac{1}{5}-\frac{3}{5}}

as

\mathrm{Combine\:the\:fractions\:}\frac{1}{5}-\frac{3}{5}:\quad -\frac{2}{5}

so

=\frac{\frac{4}{5}}{\frac{1}{3}-\frac{2}{5}}

\mathrm{Apply\:the\:fraction\:rule}:\quad \frac{\frac{b}{c}}{a}=\frac{b}{c\:\cdot \:a}

=\frac{4}{5\left(\frac{1}{3}-\frac{2}{5}\right)}

join  \frac{1}{3}-\frac{2}{5}:\quad -\frac{1}{15}

so

=\frac{4}{5\left(-\frac{1}{15}\right)}

\mathrm{Remove\:parentheses}:\quad \left(-a\right)=-a

=\frac{4}{-5\cdot \frac{1}{15}}

\mathrm{Apply\:the\:fraction\:rule}:\quad \frac{a}{-b}=-\frac{a}{b}

=-\frac{4}{5\cdot \frac{1}{15}}

\mathrm{Multiply\:}5\cdot \frac{1}{15}\::\quad \frac{1}{3}

so

=-\frac{4}{\frac{1}{3}}

\mathrm{Simplify}\:\frac{4}{\frac{1}{3}}:\quad \frac{12}{1}

so

=-\frac{12}{1}

\mathrm{Apply\:rule}\:\frac{a}{1}=a

=-12

Therefore

                  \frac{\frac{4}{5}}{\frac{1}{3}+\frac{1}{5}-\frac{3}{5}}=-12
