Answer:

  1. oxidation of alcohols involves the alkyl portion of the molecule, or more specifically, the \(\ce{C-H}\) bonds of the hydroxyl-bearing carbon (the \(\alpha\) carbon). Secondary alcohols, which have only one such \(\ce{C-H}\) bond, are oxidized to ketones, whereas tertiary alcohols, which have no \(\ce{C-H}\) bonds to the hydroxylic carbon, are oxidized only with accompanying degradation into smaller fragments by cleavage of carbon-carbon bonds.
  2. Because alcohols are easily synthesized and easily transformed into other compounds, they serve as important intermediates in organic synthesis.

How many molecules of sulfur trioxide are in 78.0 grams?
Zarrin [17]
Molecular formula of sulfur trioxide is SO₃
Molar mass of SO₃ is -  32 + (16 x 3 ) = 80 g/mol
1 mol of any substance consists of 6.022 x 10²³ units. In 1 mol of SO₃ there are 6.022 x 10²³ molecules of SO₃
in 80 g of SO₃ - there are 6.022 x 10²³ molecules of SO₃
Therefore in 78 g of SO₃ - there are 6.022 x 10²³ /80 x 78 = 5.871 x 10²³ SO₃ molecules

Distinguish(solid,liquid,gas)
amm1812

Answer:

Explanation:

A solid, at a given temperature, has a definite volume

and shape which may be affected by changes in

temperature. Solids usually increase slightly in size

when heated (expansion)  and usually

decrease in size if cooled (contraction).A liquid, at a given temperature, has a

fixed volume and will take up the shape of any

container into which it is poured. Like a solid, a

liquid’s volume is slightly affected by changes in

temperature.

A gas, at a given temperature, has neither a definite

shape nor a definite volume. It will take up the shape

of any container into which it is placed and will

spread out evenly within it. Unlike those of solids

and liquids, the volumes of gases are affected quite

markedly by changes in temperature.
