Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Equation at the end of step 1

 (12 • (m + 3x)) -  18 • (x - 3)  = 0

Equation at the end of step 2

 12 • (m + 3x) -  18 • (x - 3)  = 0

Pulling out like terms

4.1     Pull out like factors :

  12m + 18x + 54  =   6 • (2m + 3x + 9)

Equation at the end of step

4

:

 6 • (2m + 3x + 9)  = 0

STEP

5

:

Equations which are never true:

5.1      Solve :    6   =  0

This equation has no solution.

A a non-zero constant never equals zero.

Equation of a Straight Line

5.2     Solve   2m+3x+9  = 0

Tiger recognizes that we have here an equation of a straight line. Such an equation is usually written y=mx+b ("y=mx+c" in the UK).

"y=mx+b" is the formula of a straight line drawn on Cartesian coordinate system in which "y" is the vertical axis and "x" the horizontal axis.

In this formula :

y tells us how far up the line goes

x tells us how far along

m is the Slope or Gradient i.e. how steep the line is

b is the Y-intercept i.e. where the line crosses the Y axis

The X and Y intercepts and the Slope are called the line properties. We shall now graph the line  2m+3x+9  = 0 and calculate its properties

Graph of a Straight Line :

Calculate the Y-Intercept :

Notice that when x = 0 the value of m is -9/2 so this line "cuts" the m axis at m=-4.50000

 m-intercept = -9/2  = -4.50000

Calculate the X-Intercept :

When m = 0 the value of x is -3/1 Our line therefore "cuts" the x axis at x=-3.00000

 x-intercept = -9/3  =  -3

Calculate the Slope :

Slope is defined as the change in m divided by the change in x. We note that for x=0, the value of m is -4.500 and for x=2.000, the value of m is -7.500. So, for a change of 2.000 in x (The change in x is sometimes referred to as "RUN") we get a change of -7.500 - (-4.500) = -3.000 in m. (The change in m is sometimes referred to as "RISE" and the Slope is m = RISE / RUN)

   Slope     = -3.000/2.000 = -1.500

Geometric figure: Straight Line

 Slope = -3.000/2.000 = -1.500

 x-intercept = -9/3 = -3

 m-intercept = -9/2 = -4.50000

Simple answers please
charle [14.2K]

Answer:

  • A'(4, -4)
  • B'(0, -3)
  • C'(2, -1)
  • D'(3, -2)

Step-by-step explanation:

The coordinate transformation for a 270° clockwise rotation is the same as for a 90° counterclockwise rotation:

  (x, y) ⇒ (-y, x)

The rotated points are ...

  A(-4, -4) ⇒ A'(4, -4)

  B(-3, 0) ⇒ B'(0, -3)

  C(-1, -2) ⇒ C'(2, -1)

  D(-2, -3) ⇒ D'(3, -2)

_____

<em>Additional comment</em>

To derive and/or remember these transformations, it might be useful to consider where a point came from when it ends up on the x- or y-axis.

A point must have come from the -y axis if rotating it 270° CW makes it end up on the +x-axis. A point must have come from the x-axis if rotating it 270° makes it end up on the +y axis. That is why we write ...

  (x, y) ⇒ (-y, x) . . . . . . the new x came from -y; the new y came from x

Atticus wants to buy 2/3 of a square yard of wrapping paper the paper cost $2.40 per yard how much will Atticus spend on wrappin
balu736 [363]

Atticus will spend $1.60 on wrapping paper.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

Cost of paper per yard = $2.40

Atticus wants to buy = 2/3

Cost of 2/3 yards of paper = \frac{2}{3}*2.40

Cost of 2/3 yards of paper = \frac{4.80}{3}

Cost of 2/3 yards of paper = $1.60

Atticus will spend $1.60 on wrapping paper.

The ratio of three angles of a triangle is 1:2:3. Find the measurement of the angles
Snezhnost [94]

Answer:

all the angles add up to 180 degrees

So 180÷6=30

(i got 6 cuz 1+2+3)

so 1=30

2=30*2=60

3=30*3=90

Let u = (1, 2 -2), v= (2, 1, 3) and w = j + 4k. a) Find cos theta, where theta is the angle in degrees between u and w.
vodka [1.7K]

Answer: The value of cos theta is -0.352.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

\vec{u}=1\hat{i}+2\hat{j}-2\hat{k}\and\\\\\vec{w}=\hat{j}+4\hat{k}

We need to find the cos theta between u and w.

As we know the formula for angle between two vectors.

\cos\ \theta=\dfrac{\vec{u}.\vec{w}}{\mid u\mid \mid w\mid}

So, it becomes,

\cos \theta=\dfrac{2-8}{\sqrt{1^2+2^2+(-2)^2}\sqrt{1^2+4^2}}\\\\\cos \theta=\dfrac{-6}{\sqrt{17}\sqrt{17}}=\dfrac{-6}{17}=-0.352\\\\\theta=\cos^{-1}(\dfrac{-6}{17})=110.66^\circ

Hence, the value of cos theta is -0.352.
