The midpoint is just the average of the endpoint coordinates.

(6,6)=((8+x)/2, (9+y)/2)

(12,12)=((8+x), (9+y))

(4,3)=(x,y)

So the coordinates of R are (4,3)

Hello!

The formula for the midpoint is..

midpoint = ((x + x1)/2, (y + y1)/2)

<span>Since M(6,6) is the mipoint, and S(8,9) is the endpoint... </span>

(6,6) = ((x + 8)/2, (y + 9)/2)

6 = (x + 8)/2
12 = x + 8
x = 4

6 = (y + 9)/2
12 = y + 9
y = 3

<span>Hence, the coordinates of R is (4,3) in terms of (x,y) [A]
</span>

Assume that f is continuous on [-4,4] and differentiable on (-4,4). The table gives some values of f'(x) x: -4, -3, -2, -1, 0, 1
kondaur [170]
f will be increasing on the intervals where f'(x)>0 and decreasing wherever f'(x). Local extrema occur when f'(x)=0 and the sign of f'(x) changes to either side of that point.

f'(x) is positive when x is between -4 and some number between -2 and -1, and also 2 (exclusive) and 4, so you can estimate that f(x) is increasing on the intervals [-4, -2] and (2, 4].

f'(x) is negative when x is between some number between -2 and -1, up to some number less than 2. So f(x) is decreasing on the interval [-1, 1].

You then have two possible cases for extrema occurring. The sign of f'(x) changes for some x between -2 and -1, and again to either side of x=2.

If 1/2 gallon of paint covers 1/12 of a wall then how much paint is needed for the entire wall
netineya [11]

1/2 gallon of paint covers 1/12 of a wall , 12 times as much paint will cover 12 times the area you can solve this by 12*1/2=6.

Solve for b
Alex73 [517]

Answer:

b=\sqrt{21}

Step-by-step explanation:

Considering the given figure the sides 'b' , '2' and '5' are making the sides of a right angled triangle in the top right corner of the square, where

Hypotenuse=5  , Perpendicular=b and  Base=2

Using Pythagoras Theorem:

                (Hypotenuse)^2=(Perpendicular)^2+(Base)^2\\

       Implementing the values in the formula:

                      5^2= b^2+2^2

                     b^2=5^2-2^2\\\\b^2=25-4\\\\b^2=21\\\\b=\sqrt{21}

So, the value of 'b' is \sqrt{21} which is same for the the given 'b' in the figure.

How to calulate the area of a square with a perimeter of 60 inches
olasank [31]

Answer:

<h2>A = 225 in²</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula of an area of a square:

A=s^2

<em>s</em><em> - side</em>

The formula of a perimeter of a square:

P=4s

<em>s</em><em> - side</em>

<em />

We have a perimeter

P=60\ in

Substitute:

4s=60             <em>divide both sides by 4</em>

\dfrac{4s}{4}=\dfrac{60}{4}\\\\s=15\ in

Put it to the formula of an area of a square:

A=15^2=225\ in^2
