Not always it depends on what kind of problem you get. Sometimes you have get a problem that does not have multiplication so then you'd start with division instead.. Get what I'm saying lol? Maybe that helps.

A 2% decrease is written as<br><br> A 30% increase is written as
alexandr1967 [171]

Answer:

100% - 2% = 98%

Or 100% x 0.98 = 98%

100% - 30% = 70%

Or

100% x 0.7 = 70%

Answer : 0.98 & 0.7

Thus, any number/price multiplied by these decimal multipilers - automatically, will give you the decreased values of the original values.)

For example, a £300 bag is on a sale for 2% off, how much does it cost?

£300 x 0.98 = £294 (final price of the bag)

Hope this helps!

Kay [80]

Answer:

Hello your question is incomplete below is the missing value

determine the probability that the number who have a high school degree as their highest educational level is exactly 32

answer : P( x = 32 ) = 0.08

Step-by-step explanation:

Given ;

n = 100 , p = 0.304

np = 100 * 0.304 = 30.4

n( 1 - p ) = 100 ( 1 - 0.304 ) = 69.6

applying normal approximation to the Binomial to determine mean value and standard deviation ( because:  np and n(1-p)  > 5 )

mean = np = 30.4

std = \sqrt{np(1-p)} = \sqrt{30.4(69.6)} = 4.6

<u>Determine the probability of exactly 32 </u>

P( X = 32 ) = P( 31.5 < X < 32.5 )

                 = P( (31.5 - 30.4) / 4.6  < X  < (32.5 - 30.4) / 4.6 )

                 = P ( 0.24 < Z < 0.46 )

                 = p( Z < 0.46 ) - p( Z< 0.24 )   ( using standard tables )

                 = 0.6772 - 0.5948 = 0.0824  ≈ 0.08

poizon [28]
Recall your d = rt, distance = rate * time

we know the total trip was 352miles, so, let's say he was going for the first 2hrs at "r" speed, he went "d" miles, then he slowed down to "r - 20" and went 6 more hours, since the total trip is 352 miles, the 6hrs take the slack from 352 - d, and that's how many miles he covered on those 6hours

\bf \begin{array}{lccclll}&#10;&distance&rate&time\\&#10;&-----&-----&-----\\&#10;\textit{before slowing}&d&r&2\\&#10;\textit{after slowing}&352-d&r-20&6&#10;\end{array}&#10;\\\\\\&#10;&#10;\begin{cases}&#10;\boxed{d}=2r\\&#10;352-d=(r-20)6\\&#10;----------\\&#10;352-\boxed{2r}=(r-20)6&#10;\end{cases}

solve for "r".
