24x + 21.50 =17.25 x+ 41.00

subtract 21.50 both sides

. We can now solve for  x  by isolating the variable.

24x=17.25x+19.5

divide 17.25x

1.39x=19.5

divide 1.39 both sides

x=14.02

After five months, the total cost would be the same.
