The nurse educator is discussing the chemistry of alcohol dependence with a group of students in the classroom environment. Whic
Reika [66]

Answer:

Alcohol has very varied effects on neurotransmitters depending on the intake time and its drinking pattern. If alcohol consumption is short term, it will potentiate the inhibitory neurotransmitter action (inhibition of glutamatergic transmission, and activation of GABAergic neurons); On the other hand, long-term consumption produces tolerance, which tends to move these neurochemical alterations to normal values. On the other hand, if alcohol consumption is discontinuous or abruptly reduced, there is activation of glutamatergic neurotransmission and inhibition of GABAergic neurotransmission, among many other neurochemical alterations, which triggers withdrawal syndrome and consequent search behavior and unstoppable desire for to drink alcohol.

taurus [48]

Assignment: In your opinion, why would a person be negatively effected by using drugs or alcohol? Please give examples in your explanation.

Response: Drugs and alcohol mean bad business, regardless of where you are. They cause addictive and obsessive behavior, and some say that when they were heavily influenced by the usage of those items, they felt a part of them was missing without taking it. They became hostile and were set off by the smallest things, even if they weren't that big of a deal. People no longer wanted to spend time with them anymore, and they would spiral into a deep dark depression period where they had gone so far in, getting out was nearly impossible to think of at that time. This is one of the more serious consequences of drugs and alcohol, but a very likelihood of taking it. It's horrifying to think about how your future could be over just by a single decision.

Uplifting Note: 2020 may be bad, and 2021 may be worse, but that's what life is. We are a united people who will get through it together.
