When an individual operates at a level which is beyond the <em>societal level of ethical morality</em> such that one's decision is based on what is right depending on circumstance. Hence, Britta is operating at the Post conventional

Morality is usually defined based on societal culture which is usually general. This includes general rules or conception.

Acts such as <em>burglary or breaking into someones else's</em> store such as what Britta did is wrong and unethical based on societal standard. However, the circumstance leading to her acts makes her feel it is the right thing to do.

Hence, the reason she <em>didn't feel she had done</em> anything wrong and waited till the store owner arrived.

Therefore, Britta is operating at the post conventional level of <em>Kohlberg's morality theory</em>.
