The Articles of Confederation was written and signed after declaration of  independence from Great Britain and created on November 15, 1777.

  • The Articles was signed by the existing 13 states of America and its served as the country first constitution.

  • The Articles of Confederation states the function of the national government of the United States.

Some Weakness of the Articles are:

  • Each states have only one congress despite large population of citizen.
  • No power confer on Congress to regulate foreign trade.
  • No court or judicial system.
  • No power conferred on Congress to receive tax.
