Answer:

since the equation of the line that passes through the point is parallel to the line

m1 = m2 (the two slopes are equal)

x -2y = 10

-2y = 10 -x ; -2y = - x +10

multiply both sides by -1

2y = x -10

y = 1/2x -5

since y = mx + c

m = 1/2

y - y1 = m ( x - x1)

y- 0 = 1/2( x -(-8))

y = 1/2 (x + 8)

cross multiply

2y = x +8

divide both sides by 2

y = 1/2x + 4(equation of the line)

I have a homework about subtracting Integers and i don't get what -9 - 5, 31 - 48, ang -6 - 7 is
Alexxandr [17]
Well remember this:
When the signs are the same it is positive
When the signs are different make it negative

When you are subtracting a negative and positive, it is going to be like adding
for example:
-9 - 5 = -14
You just add 9 and 5 to get 14, the signs are different so it is going to be negative. ONLY WHEN YOU ARE SUBTRACTING NEGATIVES

A cube has a total surface area of 54 square inches.
What is the volume of the cube?
Lemur [1.5K]

Answer:

V = 27 in³

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula of a surface area of a cube:

S.A.=6a^2

a - edge

We have S.A. = 54 in². Substitute:

6a^2=54 divide both sides by 6

a^2=9\to a=\sqrt9\\\\a=3\ in

The formula of a volume of a cube:

V=a^3

Substitute:

V=3^3=27\ in^3
