Step-by-step explanation:

<h2><u>Given :-</u></h2>

In the adjacent figure, x:y:z = 2:3:4

<h2><u>To find :-</u></h2>

Find the value of z and p ?

<h2><u>Solution :-</u></h2>

Given that

In the adjacent figure, x:y:z = 2:3:4

Let x = 2a°

Let y = 3a°

Let z = 4a°

From the given figure,

x ,y and z are the angles on the same line

=> x + y + z = 180°

=> 2a° + 3a° + 4a° = 180°

=> 9a° = 180°

=> a° = 180°/9

=> a° = 20°

Therefore, a = 20°

Now

x = 2a° = 2×20° = 40°

y = 3a° = 3×20° = 60°

z = 4a° = 4×20° = 80°

and

x and p are linear pair

=> x + p = 180°

=> 40°+p = 180°

=> p = 180°-40°

=> p = 140°

Therefore, p = 140°

<h2><u>Answer :-</u></h2>

The value of z = 80°

The value of p = 140°

<u>Used formulae:-</u>

→ The sum of all angles lie on the same line is 180°

→ The sum of two adjacent angles is 180° are called Linear pair..

What is the slope of a line that is perpendicular to the line shown.
sertanlavr [38]

Answer:

3/4

Step-by-step explanation:

First of all, we need to calculate the slope of the line shown. This can be computed as:

m=\frac{\Delta y}{\Delta x}

where

\Delta y = y_2-y_1 is the increment along the y-direction

\Delta x = x_2 - x_1 is the increment along the x-direction

We can choose the following two points to calculate the slope of the line shown:

(-3,2) and (0,-2)

And so, the slope of the line shown is

m=\frac{-2-(2)}{0-(-3)}=-\frac{4}{3}

Two lines are said to be perpendicular if the slope of the first line is the negative reciprocal of the slope of the second line:

m_2 = -\frac{1}{m_1}

Using m_1 = -\frac{4}{3}, we find that a line perpendicular to the line shown should have a slope of

m_2 = -\frac{1}{-4/3}=3/4
