Answer: Fracking is a term that can stir strong emotions among its opponents and proponents. It is actually a combination of techniques, including hydraulic fracturing, that has allowed drillers to draw hydrocarbons from rock formations which were once not profitable to tap. Drillers shatter layers of shale rock with high-pressure water, sand and chemicals to start the flow of hydrocarbons from a well. The hydraulic fracturing process itself, aside from its large demand for water, is possibly the least environmentally

Explanation: Not only does fracking allegedly pollute the groundwater in areas where companies drill, but it also pollutes the air locally, regionally and globally. This drilling can be a big problem for the health of the inhabitants of the world. Many people may not immediately think that air pollution is an effect of fracking, but that would be wrong.

Answer:

Scientists have theorized that fugitive emissions of methane from fracking wells could make gas worse than coal pollution for the climate. Fracking wells also leak volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which cause asthma, cancer, and severe illness. ... The researchers pinpoint oil and gas development as the main source.

malfutka [58]

Answer:

c. Do not have legislative representation as is the cases in other countries with proportional representation.

Explanation:

Proportional representation refers to an electoral structure wherein the number of votes that the members of the political party obtain at a given election determines the number of seats held by a specified political party in a legislative system. This electoral process is the principle of allocating seats in parliament so that they are proportionate to the votes cast. However, in the United States, the legislative representation falls under the subjugation of the candidate who receives the maximum number of votes.

a statistically significant result indicates that your findings are not likely due to chance. group of answer choices true false
IrinaK [193]

A statistically significant result indicates that your findings are not likely due to chancea statistically significant result indicates that your findings are not likely due to chance.this is  a true statement.

Statistical significance provides a cut-off value for determining whether a sample's results and observable effects are primarily due to screening and accurately represent the characteristics of the study population. This significance threshold is often 0.05-5%, regardless of the need for documentation. This is because the implications of our findings recognize the importance of both Type I and Type II errors. When we say that a result is "statistically significant", we mean it is statistically significantly different from 0.

There is usually a null hypothesis that the parameter is equal to zero. Through statistical analysis, tests can be performed to prove that such parameters are statistically significantly different from zero. Therefore, you should know that this value is statistically significantly different from 0 when viewed in text.
