That depends on who you ask. From a historical stand point, Jesus was a great teacher, who preached what is now the Christian message. Jesus said that if you pray to God, confessing you sins, you would be forgiven of them. The same is said from a Christian stand point. The Bible says "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness"-1st John 1:9.
