To solve this, we will use the Exterior Angle of a Triangle Theorem, which states that the exterior angles in a triangle are congruent to the 2 interior remote angles.

Therefore:

17x-1 = 84 + 7x+5.

• The exterior angle = the 2 remote interior angles.

17x-1+1=84+7x+5+1

17x = 84+7x+6

17x-7x = 84+7x-7x+6

10x = 84+6

10x = 90

10x/10 = 90/10

x = 9

Pheneg-Xu drinks 1 cup of milk every day.how many gallons does he drink each week.
Gwar [14]
Let x = number of cups drank per week
let y = number of gallons drank per week

x = 1 cup x 7 days
x = 7 cups per one week

y = 7 cups per week x 0.0625 gallons
y = 0.4375 liquid gallons each week

Sherry purchased a new backpack for her daughter. The backpack was on sale for 20% off the regular price. If Sherry paid $28.80
madreJ [45]

28.80 + .20X = X

.20X = X - 28.80

1/5 = .20

X/5 = X -28.80

X = 5X - 144

Set the new X equal to the original X

28.80 + .20X = 5X - 144

172.8 + .20X = 5X

172.8 = 4.8X

36 = X

36$ is the original price

To check,

28.80 + (.20 x 36) = 36

28.80 + 7.2 = 36

36 = 36

Liam is setting up folding chairs for a meeting. If he arranges the chairs in 9 rows of the same length, he has 3 chairs left ov
exis [7]

9x + 3 = 7x +19

2x + 3 = 19

2x = 16

x = 8

So, x (8) is the number of chairs in each row with these setups.

Plug 8 into one of the equations and you will find how many chairs total there are.

9(8) + 3 = 75

There are 75 chairs total
