Find the value of the expression (-101)+102+(-103)+104+...+(-199)+200. (with steps)
Juliette [100K]
hello :
(-101)+102+(-103)+104+...+(-199)+200
=(  (-101)+(-103) +....+ (-199) ) +( (102) + ( 104) +....+(200))
let : A = (  (-101)+(-103) +....+ (-199) )
       B = ( (102) + ( 104) +....+(200))
note : the sum n term of arithemtic sequence
S= n/2(u1 + un)
un = u1 +(n-1) d       u1 : the first term      d : the common diference
in A :  u1= -101      d = -2       n = 49...
in B : u1 =102       d=2        n= 49
A = 49/2(-101-199) =-7350
B=49/2(102+200)=4949
(-101)+102+(-103)+104+...+(-199)+200 = A+B =-2401

Slope intercept form 10x-7y=-8
Maslowich
Hello Isaiah! (Cool name)

10x - 7y = -8

We need to use the slope - intercept form y = mx + b to find the slope m.

Thus, the slope for this is m= 10/7

I hope this helps!

Jesus earned 50 points in a video game. He lost 40 points, earned 87 points, then lost 30 more points. Write and evaluate an exp
Lana71 [14]

The final score in the video game is 67.

Step-by-step explanation:

Points earned = 50 points, 87 points

Points lost = 40 points, 30 points

Let,

Plus sign (+) represent the points earned.

Negative sign (-) represent the points lost.

Therefore,

Points earned = +50, +70

Points lost = -40, -30

Adding all the points to get final score;

Final score = 50+(-40)+87+(-30)

Final\ score=50-40+87-30\\Final\ score = 137-70\\Final\ score=67

The final score in the video game is 67.

What is the y-intercept of the line that has a slope of -1/2 and passes through the point (2, 3)?
lukranit [14]
Hello!

So the equation that you want to use is
y = mx + b

Now you can plug in both the slope and your points to find b.

3 = -1/2(2) + b
3 = -1 + b
4 = b

So now that we've found b, we can use the original equation and only plug in the slope and b

y = -1/2x + 4

So to find the y-intercept, we need to plug in 0 for x

y = -1/2(0) + 4
y = 0 + 4
y = 4

Your y-intercept is (0,4)

Hope this helps!
