Sushil, Alex and Peter share some sweets in the ratio 3:2:5. Sushil gets 24 sweets. How many sweets are there altogether?
Goshia [24]
80 because if you divide 24 by 3 and multiply it by 2, you get the second value (16), then divide 24 by 3 and multiply it by five, you get the third value (40). Then you add all three values (24,16,40) and you get 80

Which expression is equivalent to the following complex fraction?
jekas [21]

Answer: last option.

Step-by-step explanation:

- Subtract the fractions that are in the numerator.

- Add the  fractions that are in the denominator.

Then:

\frac{\frac{1}{x}-\frac{1}{y}}{\frac{1}{x}+\frac{1}{y}}=\frac{\frac{y-x}{xy}}{\frac{y+x}{xy}}

- Multiply the numerator of the fraction on the top by the denomianator of the fraction on the bottom.

- Simplify.

Then:

=\frac{(y-x)(xy)}{(y+x)(xy)}=\frac{(y-x)}{(y+x)}
