Molality= moles of solute /kg of solvent

moles of solute= mass/molar mass
moles of solute= 3.94 g / (342 g/mol)
moles of solute= 0.01 mol

molality= 0.01 mol / 0.285 kg
molality= 0.04 m

Answer : The molality of sugar solution is, 0.04038 mole/Kg

Solution : Given,

Mass of solute (sucrose) = 3.94 g

Mass of solvent (water) = 285 g

Molar mass of sucrose = 342.3 g/mole

Molality : It is defined as the number of moles of solute present in one kilogram of solvent.

Formula used :

Molality=\frac{\text{Mass of solute}\times 1000}{\text{Molar mass of solute}\times \text{Mass of solvent in g}}=\frac{3.94g\times 1000}{342.3g/mole\times 285g}=0.04038mole/Kg

Therefore, the molality of sugar solution is, 0.04038 mole/Kg

What is 3.35 x 10^14 Hz?
Andrews [41]

Answer:

335,000,000,000,000 Hz

Explanation:

3.35 x 10^14 is just scientific notation. This is a way to make a really big number small to write and easier to understand. The exponent on the 10 represents how many times you move the decimal to the right. If the exponent is negative you should move the decimal to the left. Each time the decimal is moved, and there is no pre-existing number, you need to add a zero.

3.35 x 10^14 is equal to

335,000,000,000,000

What type of compound is created when potassium and chlorine combine?
poizon [28]

Answer : The type of compound created is Ionic compound and the chemical formula is KCl.

Explanation :

  • Potassium has 1 electron in its valence shell and chlorine has 7 electrons in its valence shell.
  • The potassium loses 1 valence electron & make a positive charged ion and chlorine picks it up & make a negative charged ion and then they attract to each other.
  • Potassium and chlorine atom combine to form potassium chloride by the ionic bonding.
  • An ionic compound is made of a metal and non-metal element. And in this case, potassium is a metal element and chlorine is a non-metal element.

The ionic compound formation is,

K+Cl\rightarrow KCl

The Chemical formula is KCl.

People had asked this many times and that is why they came up with methods and standards that will answer these type of questions. You can look it up in the NIST or the  National Institute for Standards and Technology.

Prepare 15 mg/dl working standard solution from a stock solution of 20 mg/dl. State the volume of diluent and dilution.
Anastasy [175]

Preparing 15 mg/gl working standard solution from a 20 mg/dl stock solution will require the application of the dilution principle.

Recalling the principle:

initial volume x initial molarity = final volume x final molarity

Since we were not given any volume to work with, we can as well just take an arbitrary volume to be prepared. Let's assume that the stock solution is 10 mL and we want to prepare 15 mg/gl from it:

Applying the dilution principle:

10 x 20 = final volume x 15

final volume = 200/15

                       = 13.33 mL

This means that in order to prepare 13.33 mL, 15 mg/l working standard solution from 10 ml, 20 mg/dl stock solution, 3.33 mL of the diluent must be added to the stock solution.
