In a fit of rage, Terry throws a ball into the air with a velocity of 100 m/s. At the highest point of it's trajectory, what is

the acceleration of the ball?

From the moment it leaves Terry's hand ... all the way up and then all the way down ... until the moment the ball hits the ground, its acceleration is 9.8 m/s^2 downward. That's the acceleration of gravity (on Earth), and gravity is the only force acting on the ball.

By the way ... Terry needs to control his rage and go get a job as a pitcher for Major League Baseball. That 100 m/s of his is more than double the speed that professional pitchers typically deliver !

Sources A and B emit long-range radio waves of wavelength 360 m, with the phase of the emission from A ahead of that from source
Bumek [7]

Answer:

The magnitude of the phase difference at the detector = 0.8692 rad

Explanation:

Given Data:

Wavelength (λ) = 360 m

Distance (x) = 140 m

The phase difference between the two phases can be calculated using the formula;

Ф = 2π/λ * x

   = (2*π/360) * 140

   =2.44 rad

Calculating the magnitude of the phase difference at the detector as;

ΔФ = 2.44 rad -90°(2π/360)

      = 2.44 - 1.5708

      = 0.8692 rad

What happens to the boat when its weight is greater than the buoyant force?
oee [108]

Answer:

1. and 2. If the buoyant force is greater than the object's weight, the object rises to the surface and floats. If the buoyant force is less than the object's weight, the object sinks. If the buoyant force equals the object's weight, the object can remain suspended at its present depth.

3. When the buoyant force equals one ton, it will sink no further. When any boat displaces a weight of water equal to its own weight, it floats. This is often called the “principle of flotation” where a floating object displaces a weight of fluid equal to its own weight.
