Though, like all things in life, it did come to an end, the resulting outcome has been labeled both a success and a failure. When Reconstruction began in 1865, a broken America had just finished fighting the Civil War. So yes, reconstruction was a success.
A third party winning the national election in the United States is a near impossibility. The Republican and Democratic parties are so exceptionally well organized after over 150 years of experience that they defeat any third party. The lack of organization is in fact the number one reason the Independent Party never wins. Another aspect of this is media attention; the biggest media sources seen by the common people only cover the candidates from the aforementioned Republican and Democratic parties. The final aspect is what is known as the Spoiler Affect; the better a third party does, the more he hurts the party most closely affiliated with him, as this splits the vote. A classic example of this is the 1912 election, in which 60% voted Republican, but this was split between two different branches of the Republican party, while only 40% of the population voted Democrat, but since the Republican vote was divided, the Democrat won by a large margin.

The rights of Israeli citizens differ greatly from the rights of Iranian and Saudi Arabian citizens. The only similarity between the three countries is that they all offer citizens some degree of voting rights, but these rights vary among the nations. Israel and Iran allow both men and women to vote, while Saudi Arabia restricts voting to men only. The governments of Saudi Arabia and Iran both restrict the rights of their citizens to a great degree. In these countries there is little political participation, as political parties do not exist and supreme rulers, not citizens, decide on most aspects of government. Freedoms of speech, press, and religion are also very limited in Saudi Arabia and Iran. Israel's government provides citizens with a large degree of political participation. There are many different political parties to join, and freedoms like speech and religion are guaranteed by law.</span>
