Answer:

5 4/9

Step-by-step explanation:

You can add in any order if it has the same denominator, so first you  would add 2 1/9 + 3 5/9 to get 5 6/9. Lastly you would add 5 6/9 + (-2/9). Since it is negative you are subtracting -2/9 from 5 6/9 to get 5 4/9.

The solution of the equation is  x=\frac{11}{7}

Step-by-step explanation:

To simplify an equation of x

  • Simplify each side of the equation
  • Collect x in side and the numerical terms in the other side
  • Find the value of x

∵ The equation is 2x + \frac{1-x}{4}=3

- Multiply all terms of the equation by 4 to cancel the denominator

 of the 2nd term in the left hand side

∵ The equation is 4(2x) +4 (\frac{1-x}{4})=4(3)

∴ 8x + (1 - x) = 12

∴ 8x + 1 - x = 12

- Add like terms

∴ (8x - x) + 1 = 12

∴ 7x + 1 = 12

- Subtract 1 from both sides

∴ 7x = 11

- Divide both sides by 7

∴ x=\frac{11}{7}

The solution of the equation is  x=\frac{11}{7}

kiruha [24]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Believe it or not, the two areas are the same.

The base of the rectangle is PQ

The height of the rectangle is PS

Now look at the parallelogram.

The base is PQ

The height is PS

The area has to be the same in both cases. There is no other way to interpret what is happening.
