In myopia, the eye becomes distorted to have a longer distance from lens to retina, which makes images at large object distances
gizmo_the_mogwai [7]

Answer:

Explanation:

Myopia is the defect of human eye in which a person is not able to see the far off objects clearly but can see the nearby objects clearly.

It is due to the increase in focal length of the eye lens and the contraction in the size of eye ball.

It is cured by using the concave lens of suitable focal length.

Which of the following are the result of developments in science ?
jasenka [17]

Hello!

Your answer is all of the above. Science is a very broad field, and it is the thing which has engineered most, if not all, of our technology today. Take for example microwave ovens. These could not have been possible without science, as it was science that realized that "microwaves" (a type of wave length) even existed.

Hope this helps!

What is an electromagnet? * 10 points A metal magnet that has electricity running through it. A metal magnet that creates an ele
loris [4]

Answer:

A magnetic field caused by electric current.

Explanation:

An electromagnet is a type of magnet in which the magnetic field is produced by an electric current. Electromagnets usually consist of wire wound into a coil. A current through the wire creates a magnetic field which is concentrated in the hole, denoting the centre of the coil.

In a laboratory, the Balmer-beta spectral line of hydrogen has a wavelength of 486.1 nm. If the line appears in a star's spectru
guajiro [1.7K]

Use Doppler's formula to find the radial velocity of star.

\frac{V_r}{c} = \frac{\Delta \lambda}{\lambda_0}

Here,

V_r = Radial Velocity

c = Speed of light

\Delta \lambda = Shift in wavelength

\lambda_0 = Laboratory wavelength of spectral line

Rearrange for V_r,

V_r = \frac{\Delta \lambda}{\lambda_0} c

Find shift in wavelength, \Delta \lambda

\Delta \lambda = |485.5nm - 486.1nm|

\Delta \lambda = 0.6nm

Replacing our values we have then,

V_r = \frac{0.6nm}{486.1nm}(3*10^8m/s)

V_r = 370000m/s

Therefore the radial velocity of star is 3.7*10^5m/s

In this case the symbol of \Delta \lambda implies that the star is receding the observer and the wavelength turns to red, then is red shifted.
