X=10 , using pemdas you multiply the -2 into the parentheses getting yourself 6x+2-4x+3=25 from there you combine like terms and end up with 2x+5=25 and you subtract the 5 from both sides to isolate the x and end up with 2x=20 and then divide the 2 to finally isolate the x and end up with X=10

1. Find the area of the polygon
zhannawk [14.2K]

Answer:

1. A = 40 units²

2. A = 72 units²

3. B) 45

Step-by-step explanation:

1. This shape comprises 4 congruent triangles with base of 5 units and height of 5 units.

Area of a triangle = 1/2 x base x height

Therefore, area of polygon = 4(1/2 x 5 x 4)

                                             = 40 units²

2. This shape comprises two pairs of congruent triangles.

Area of a triangle = 1/2 x base x height

Therefore, area of polygon = 2(1/2 x 2 x 6) + 2(1/2 x 10 x 6)

                                             = 72 units²

3. Count the number of shaded squares:

9 + 8 + 7 + 6 + 5 + 4 + 3 + 2 + 1 = 45 units²

7:
Parallel lines have the same slope
y = -3x + b
Plug in the x and y values from the point
5 = -3(-4) + b
5 = 12 + b
-7 = b
Answer to 7: y = -3x -7

8:
Perpendicular lines have opposite reciprocal slopes
y = -2x + b
Plug in x and y from the point
-6 = -2(7) + b
-6 = -14 + b
8 = b
Answer to 8: y = -2x + 8

In science class, a student is measuring the temperature of a solution in science experiment. The solution
Radda [10]

Answer:

-11.8

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

-3.4 to 12.4        increased  (difference = 15.8)

12.4 to 20.4      decreased (difference = 8)

20.4 to 3.2        increased  (difference = 17.2)

To find:

Final temperature.

Solution:

As we noticed, this is a pattern of increase, decrease, increase... (and so on and so forth). From this alone, we have gotten the clue that the temperature is going to decrease. But here is the thing, How far will it decrease?

Use the difference of the starting result to find the ending result.

3.2 - 15

= -11.8

Therefore, the final temperature is -11.8.

What is the slope of these lines?
What is the equation of these lines?
Mashcka [7]
For both lines the slope is 5/2 or 2.5.
Since the y-intercept is zero for both, both the equations are:
y=2.5x
Or
y=5/2x
