There are 120 people at a party 1/3 of the people leave the party work out the number of people still at the party

Mathematics
1 answer:
zvonat [6]2 years ago
8 0

Answer:

There is 80 people still at the party

Step-by-step explanation:

To find how many people are still at the party we first have to find how much 1/3 of 120 is.

∴120/3=40

then we subtract 1/3 of 120 from 120 to get the answer

∴120-40=80

Suppose you are given information about a triangle according to SSS, SAS, and ASA. For which of these can you immediately use th
jek_recluse [69]

Answer:

SSS and SAS

Step-by-step explanation:

Law of cosines: The law of cosines is used for calculating one side of a triangle when the angle opposite and the other two sides are known.

If the information about a triangle according to SSS, SAS and ASA is given, then we will immediately use SSS and SAS  by using the law of cosines to find one of the remaining measures because Law of cosines is applied if we know one angle opposite and the other two sides.

Also, in ASA, we know two angles and one side, thus we cannot use Law of cosines in this, rather Law of sines can be accurately use in this case.

if you have two sides, encroaching an angle, then the Law of Cosines can be used to find a missing side, thus SAS will work fine for that, now, if you have no angles given, but you know all sides, you can use the Law of Cosines as well, by solving it for the angle, and get the angles, on which case, SSS will do... .now as far as ASA, if you have two angles and one side known, then... that's not very workable for the law of cosines

In ΔUVW, the measure of ∠W=90°, VW = 32 feet, and WU = 78 feet. Find the measure of ∠V to the nearest degree.
DanielleElmas [232]

Answer: 67.68^{\circ}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

\angle W=90^{\circ}

VW=32\ ft

WU=78\ ft

from the figure, we can write

\Rightarrow \tan v=\dfrac{UW}{VW}\\\\\Rightarrow \tan v=\dfrac{78}{32}\\\\\Rightarrow \tan v=2.437\\\Rightarrow v=\tan^-1(2.437)\\\Rightarrow v=67.68^{\circ}

Can u solve this for me: 72 + 4x = 2x + 82 and please show work
8_murik_8 [283]
The answer is X = 5 because first you have to take away 2x from that side so u minus 2x from 4x that gives u: 72 + 2x = 82 then you have to minus 72 from both sides and that gives you 2x = 10 once you have that you divide both sides by 2 because you want the X by itself and once you get that X = 5. Hope this helped!
