Answer:1834.56 joules

Explanation:

Distance=36m

Coefficient of friction=0.2

Mass=26kg

Acceleration due to gravity=9.8m/s^2

Reaction=mass x acceleration due to gravity

Reaction=26 x 9.8

Reaction=254.8N

Coefficient of friction=frictional force ➗ reaction

0.2=frictional force ➗ 254.8

Frictional force=0.2 x 254.8

Frictional force=50.96N

work=friction force x distance

Work=50.96 x 36

Work=1834.56

Work=1834.56 joules

For a maximum superelevation of 0.08 ft/ft and a degree of curve of 4o, calculate the maximum safe speed for the curve assuming
Mamont248 [21]

Answer:

Explanation:

Given that

Superelation= 0.08ft/ft

Given curve= u•

Curve junction factor= 0.13

DR= 5729.57795

R = 5729.57795/D

R = 5729.57795/4

R = 1432.4ft

c + f = V^2/gG

0.08 + 0.13 = V^2 / (32*1432.4)

V^2 = 9625.728 or V = 98 ft/sec

The designed speed for a project considered is a minimum value which means the highway design elements will meet or exceed the standards for the design speed. The maximum safe speed under normal condition is significantly greater than design speed

A bowling ball is launched from the top of a building at an angle of 35° above the horizontal with an initial speed of 15 m/s. T
Mamont248 [21]

Let y_0 be the height of the building and thus the initial height of the ball. The ball's altitude at time t is given by

y=y_0+\left(15\dfrac{\rm m}{\rm s}\right)\sin35^\circ\,t-\dfrac g2t^2

where g=9.80\frac{\rm m}{\mathrm s^2} is the acceleration due to gravity.

The ball reaches the ground when y=0 after t=2.9\,\mathrm s. Solve for y_0:

0=y_0+\left(15\dfrac{\rm m}{\rm s}\right)\sin35^\circ(2.9\,\mathrm s)-\dfrac12\left(9.80\dfrac{\rm m}{\mathrm s^2}\right)(2.9\,\mathrm s)^2

\implies y_0\approx16.258\,\mathrm m

so the building is about 16 m tall (keeping track of significant digits).

Which illustration represent the substance at a higher temperature? Explain.
mamaluj [8]

The addition of heat energy to a system always causes the temperature of that system to increase. This is always true because you are adding heat of a substance to increase  its temperature. For example, you are going to drink a cup of coffee. And you wanted it hot to boost your attention. So you have to use hot water. In order for your water to become hot or warm, you need boil it in a kettle. Note that you are going to use an electric stove. The electric stove gets it energy from the source giving it a hotter temperature to the water in the kettle. You are applying heat energy to warm the water. So, the statement is true.
