Zach uses his car for business and must keep accurate driving records so that his company will reimburse him for car expenses. W

hen he started his trip, the odometer read 26.645, When he returned home, the odometer read 28,017. Zach's car gets about 48 miles per gallon. If the tank was full at the beginning of the trip and it cost $62.28 to fill the tank at the end of the trip, what price did Zach pay per gallon?

His end mileage minus his starting mileage will give us the total number of miles he traveled.  28017-26645=1372 miles traveled.
We can divide that by his average mpg to figure out how many gallons of gas he bought:
1372/48 = 28.583 gallons.
Now divide the amount he paid by this to get the price per gallon:
62.28/28.583 = $2.179 per gallon of gas.

HURRY PLZ!
timama [110]

Answer:

D

Step-by-step explanation:

f^{-1}(x) means the inverse. The inverse is the function reflected over the y=x line. This means the values have been reversed. (x,y)-->(y,x). We are looking for a point that has reversed values from the table.

The table has (1.-5) so the inverse is (-5,1) or D.

Find the value of x which satisfies the following equation.<br> log2(x−1)+log2(x+5)=4
weqwewe [10]

\quad \huge \quad \quad \boxed{ \tt \:Answer }

\qquad \tt \rightarrow \: x = 3

____________________________________

\large \tt Solution  \: :

\qquad \tt \rightarrow \:  log_{2}(x - 1)  log_{2}(x + 5)  = 4

\qquad \tt \rightarrow \:  log_{2} \{(x - 1)(x + 5) \} = 4

[ log (x) + log (y) = log (xy) ]

\qquad \tt \rightarrow \: ( x - 1)(x + 5) =  {2}^{4}

\qquad \tt \rightarrow \:  {x}^{2}  + 5x - x - 5 =  16

\qquad \tt \rightarrow \:  {x}^{2}  + 4x - 5 - 16 = 0

\qquad \tt \rightarrow \:  {x}^{2}  + 4x -21 = 0

\qquad \tt \rightarrow \:  {x}^{2}  + 7x - 3x - 21 = 0

\qquad \tt \rightarrow \:  x(x + 7) - 3(x + 7) = 0

\qquad \tt \rightarrow \: (x + 7)(x - 3) = 0

\qquad \tt \rightarrow \: x =  - 7 \:  \: or \:  \: x = 3

The only possible value of x is 3, since we can't operate logarithm with a negative integer in it.

\qquad \tt \rightarrow \: x = 3
