Answer:

It is readily digested by phagocytes.

Explanation:

Virulence factors are protein and sugar molecules found on bacterial and viral surface that help them to gain entry and spread in host's body. They help to evade the immune reaction by the host and help in colonization in host's body.

One such virulence factor is M protein which is found on the surface of many species of Streptococcus, notably <em>Streptococcus pyogenes</em>. It is strongly anti-phagocytic i.e. phagocytes are not able to digest it. It evades phagocytosis by binding to fibrinogen found in host's serum. A structure is formed which inhibits the host's complement system to bind to the peptidoglycan cell wall of bacteria ultimately avoiding phagocytosis. Hence, M protein is readily digested by phagocytes is a false statement.

vladimir1956 [14]

Answer:

In a research there are two variables independent and dependent variable. independent variable is defined as the variable which is controlled and changed in a scientific experiment and evaluate the effects on the dependent variable while the variable which are tested and measured in experiment are called dependent variable.

When antibiotic is sprayed at one side of the petri dish, the bacterial growth on that side will eventually decrease in comparison to other side.

So, the independent variable in this experiment will be antibiotic because it is used to understand the growth of bacteria by decreasing their numbers and the dependent variable in this experiment will be bacteria as they vary according to the change in independent variable that is antibiotic.

Which conditions need to be in balance for cells to function? Check all that apply.
sergejj [24]
For body cells to function properly, the following conditions need to be balanced:
1. BLOOD SUGAR
2. BODY WATER
3. BODY TEMPERATURE.
These three factors have to be in the right proportion for the cells and the body as a whole to function properly and to maintain homeostasis.
Blood sugar is the source of energy in the cell and it is required by all cell for carrying out the normal biochemical reactions in the body. The biochemical reactions in the body use water as a medium of reaction, thus the water balance in the body must be maintained. The body temperature also need to be kept at the normal level or else the normal biochemical reaction of the body will not be able to take place, due to the fact that incorrect temperatures deactivate the enzymes that mediate biochemical reactions.
