Taking a wild guess here, but it sounds like you're asked to find |A| and |B| given the magnitude of the resultant A + B, i.e. |A + B| = 50 N, and the sum of the individual magnitudes, |A| + |B| = 70 N.

Recall that the dot product of a vector with itself is equal to the square of that vector's magnitude,

A • A = |A|²

Then

|A + B|² = (A + B) • (A + B)

|A + B|² = (A • A) + 2 (A • B) + (B • B)

|A + B|² = |A|² + 2 (A • B) + |B|²

Since A and B are perpendicular to one another, their dot product is

A • B = 0

So it follows that

|A + B|² = |A|² + |B|²

2500 N² = |A|² + |B|²

Substitute |B| = 70 N - |A| and solve for |A| :

2500 N² = |A|² + (70 N - |A|)²

2500 N² = |A|² + 4900 N² - (140 N) |A| + |A|²

2 |A|² - (140 N) |A| + 2400 N² = 0

|A|² - (70 N) |A| + 1200 N² = 0

|A|² - (70 N) |A| = - 1200 N²

|A|² - (70 N) |A| + 1225 N² = - 1200 N² + 1225 N²

(|A| - 35 N)² = 25 N²

|A| - 35 N = ± 5 N

|A| = 35 N ± 5 N

so that |A| = 30 N or |A| = 40 N. If we fix |A| to be one of these, then |B| will have the other value.

So, the magnitudes are |A| = 30 N and |B| = 40 N.

A student was given a sample of crude acetanilide to recrystallize. The initial mass of the the crude acetanilide was 166 mg. Th
padilas [110]

Answer:

The percentage of mass recover from recrystallization = 24.69 %

Explanation:

Given that

Initial mass of crude acetanilide = 166 gm

The mass after recrystallization = 125 gm

The mass recover from recrystallization= 166 - 125 gm

The mass recover from recrystallization= 41 gm

The percentage of mass recover from recrystallization can be find as

percentage\ of\ mass\ recover\ from\ recrystallization\ =\dfrac{166-125}{166}

The percentage of mass recover from recrystallization = 24.69 %

Kipish [7]

Answer:

The tires of a car support the weight of a stationary car. If one tire has a slow leak, the air pressure within the tire will decrease with time, the surface area between the tire and the road will increase with time, and the net force the tire exerts on the road will be constant with time.

Explanation:

when a wheel has an air leak, it means that the inside of the tire has less air, which means that there will be less air pushing the walls of the tire so that the air pressure decreases.

On the other hand, the tire begins to deform due to lack of air which increases the area of contact with the floor.

As the weight of the car remains constant and the air has a negligible mass the force towards the road will be the same

Several different compounds can share the same empirical formula. The Molecular weight for three compounds with the empirical fo
Pie

Molecular formulas:

 1. CH₂O;
 2. C₂H₄O₂;
 3. C₆H₁₂O₆.

Explanation

The empirical formula of a compound tells only the ratio between atoms of each element. The empirical formula CH₂O indicates that in this compound,

 • for each C atom, there are
 • two H atoms, and
 • one O atom.

The molecular weight (molar mass) of the molecule depends on how many such sets of atoms in each molecule. The empirical formula doesn't tell anything about that number.

It's possible to add more of those sets of atoms to a molecular formula to increase its molar mass. For every extra set of those atoms added, the molar mass increase by the mass of that set of atoms. The mass of one mole of C atoms, two mole of H atoms, and one mole of O atoms is 12.0 + 2\times 1.0 + 16.0 = 30.0\;\text{g}.

 • CH₂O- 30.0 g/mol;
 • C₂H₄O₂- 30.0 + 30.0 = 2 × 30.0 = 60.0 g/mol;
 • C₃H₆O₃- 30.0 + 30.0 + 30.0 = 3 × 30.0 = 90.0 g/mol.

It takes one set of those atoms to achieve a molar mass of 30.0 g/mol. Hence the molecular formula CH₂O.

It takes two sets of those atoms to achieve a molar mass of 60.0 g/mol. Hence the molecular formula C₂H₄O₂.

It takes \dfrac{180.0}{30.0} = 6 sets of those atoms to achieve a molar mass of 180.0 g/mol. Hence the molecular formula C₆H₁₂O₆.
