What is a possible value for the missing term of the geometric sequence? 1250 , _ , 50 , ...
statuscvo [17]
The number could be 250. The reason why is because 1250 divided by 5 = 250, and 250 divided by 5 = 5. Hope this helps you, and good luck!!

Evaluate without using a calculator (x2y-3)0+x1/3-(4x)1/2 when x = 64 and y = 27. Show work.
aleksley [76]

Given:

The expression is:

(x^2y-3)^0+x^{\frac{1}{3}}-(4x)^{\frac{1}{2}}

To find:

The value of the given expression when x=64 and y=27.

Solution:

We have,

(x^2y-3)^0+x^{\frac{1}{3}}-(4x)^{\frac{1}{2}}

Putting x=64 and y=27, we get

=((64)^2(27)-3)^0+(64)^{\frac{1}{3}}-(4(64))^{\frac{1}{2}}

It can be written as

=((64)^2(27)-3)^0+(4^3)^{\frac{1}{3}}-(4)^{\frac{1}{2}}(64)^{\frac{1}{2}}

=1+4-2(8)           [\because a^0=1,a\neq 0]

=5-16

=-11

Therefore, the value of the given expression -11 when x=64 and y=27.

One day a store sold 32 sweatshirts, white ones cost $11.95 and yellow ones cost $11.50. in all, $373.40 worth of sweatshirts we
Scrat [10]
32=w+y, w=32-y...

11.95w+11.5y=373.4, using w from above gives us:

11.95(32-y)+11.5y=373.4

382.4-11.95y+11.5y=373.4

-.45y=-9

y=20

So 20 yellow and (32-20) 12 white shirts were sold.
