We have one of those equations already solved for y, so let's sub that one into the other one and solve the equation in terms of x only: 2x+( x^{2} -4x+3)=6.  We will simplify that and at the same time bring the 6 over by subtraction to get a polynomial set to equal 0 that we can factor.  x^{2} -2x-3=0.  We will factor that to get (x-3)(x+1) for x values of x = 3 and x = -1.  a above is the choice that has the x values we need, -1 and 3.

Candy selling at $6.00 per pound will be mixed with candy selling at $9.00 per pound. How many pounds of the more expensive cand
Bezzdna [24]
Well you need the mixture to start off by equalling $7, no matter what weight it is. The mean of two $6 candies and one $9 candy is $7 (6+6+9 = 21, 21/3 = 7)
So the ratio of 2:1 6$:9$ makes $7

Add 2 and 1 to get 3, 15/3 = 5, and because you're working out how much you need for the $9 candy, 5*1 (Because of the 2:1 ratio) is 5
She needs 5 pounds worth of the 9$ candy

The length of a rectangle is 4 cm less than twice its width. The perimeter of the
myrzilka [38]

Step-by-step explanation:

Let width be x

according to question

length = 2x-4

perimeter = 58

now,

perimeter = 2(length + width)

58 = 2(x+2x-4)

58 = 6x-8

6x = 66

x = 11

putting value of x in length

2x-4

= 2 X 11 -5

= 18

hence the dimensions of the rectangle is 18 and 11

a store sold 14.00 dollars worth of gift cards in october. the next month the goal was to sell $15.96 worth of gift points. this
solniwko [45]
Subtract 14 from 15.96 to find the increase.
15.96 - 14 = 1.96
Divide 1.96 by 14.
1.96 / 14 = 0.14
In percents that is 14%.
This is an increase of 14%.
Hope this helps!
