1. Answer;

-Tundra and desert

Explanation;

-Tundras biomes are among Earth's coldest, harshest biomes. Tundra ecosystems are treeless regions found in the Arctic and on the tops of mountains, where the climate is cold and windy and rainfall is scant. Tundra lands are snow-covered for much of the year, until summer brings a burst of wildflowers.

-The desert biome includes several formation classes that are transitional from grassland and savanna biomes into vegetation of the arid desert. Deserts are found in both temperate and tropical areas. Deserts are among the biomes with the lowest precipitation.

2. Answer;

-Exposure to solar flares

Explanation;

The factors that affect biomes include; altitude, latitude, rainfall, distance from the sea, drainage, relative humidity and rock and soil type.

Different plants grow at different temperatures within the same biome, the higher the altitude the lower the temperature. The further you are from the Equator means you receive less solar energy so there's less light and temperatures are lower (latitude).

Different types and amounts of plants will grow in different parts of the biome depending on the amount of rainfall it receives, with inland areas being usually drier than coastal areas.

Distance from the sea can also affect the temperature and especially the amount of rainfall within a biome.

-Swamps and bogs occur where drainage is poor, with fewer, more specialised plants growing there

"Tundra and desert" are the two biomes among the choices given in the question that have the least precipitation. The correct option among all the options that are given in the question is the third option.

"Exposure to solar flares" is the one among the following choices given in the question that would not be a factor that helps determine the characteristics of a land biome. The correct option among all the options given in the question is the first option.

(20 points) [URGENT] give a hypothesis on how the mass of potato chips is expected to change in each solution
lbvjy [14]

I predict that the potato in the lowest sugar solution

(water) will gain the most mass through osmosis, whereas the 80% sugar

concentration will lose the most mass through osmosis. I predict this

because I think that the potato chips will try to gain and lose water

between the two sides of its cell wall in order to reach an

equilibrium between them because the 80% sugar solution has a high

amount of sugar molecules, which can not diffuse through the membrane,

I think that the potato will lose water in order to make the solution

on the outside of its membrane equal to the water concentration on the

inside thus losing mass. I also predict that the other

concentrations (60%, 40%, and 20%) will lose mass, but in lower

numbers compared to the 80% sugar solution (the lower the

concentration, the higher the mass). However, since the distilled

water carries no sugar molecules, I think that the potato chip will

gain water to create a balance between the two sides of the cell wall,

making it gain mass.

In three to five sentences, explain how the fossil record provides evidence for the idea of natural selection.
Xelga [282]

Answer:Fossils provide evidence for the evolutionary change through now extinct forms that led to modern species. For example, there is a rich fossil record that shows the evolutionary transitions from horse ancestors to modern horses that document intermediate forms and a gradual adaptation o changing ecosystems
