1. The process by which one group takes on the cultural and other traits of a larger group is called <u>"assimilation".</u>


Assimilation is a progressive procedure by which a man or gathering having a place with one culture embraces the acts of another, along these lines turning into an individual from that culture. Sociologists regularly recognize forced and unforced assimilation. Sociologists utilize the idea of assimilation to depict one way a man or gathering of a specific culture, (for example, workers) may react to or mix with another culture, or how a minority social gathering may identify with a prevailing social gathering.

Non material component of a culture refers to component of the culture that we could not physically touch. This could include things such as gestures, language, values,folkways, norms and mores. In the example above not covering bodies with towel is influenced by norms rather than the towel.
