Answer:

3x + 15 = 34.

Step-by-step explanation:

Whenever an expression states "the sum," that means that there is going to be addition in the problem. So, now that we know that, we can take the numbers out of the statement and figure out their places of where they belong.

When a statement in math says "some number," it means that there is a variable. A variable is a letter that represents a mystery number that could be anything in the situation. So, for this situation we will use x, one of the most common variables used in math. When you have a number in front of a variable, that means that you are multiplying the number by the mystery number: the variable. So far we have:

3x + ? = ?

Now, we add the 15 into the expression. Because it says the "sum" of 3x and "15," we will be adding the two. Also, the word "is" basically means "equal to" in math. So, now we can put the whole equation together to get:

3x + 15 = 34.

(If you need me to solve it, I can do that too.)

I hope this helps.

Mike can pick 50 strawberries 5 minutes. How many can Mike pick in one minute?
vodomira [7]

Answer:

10 strawberries

Step-by-step explanation:

If Mike can pick 50 strawberries in 5 minutes then it is safe to assume that for 1 minute, Mike can pick 10 strawberries since you divide 50 by 5 in which Mike can pick a strawberry for every 6 seconds.

(a) Brand X median = 13
      Brand Y median = 16

Median is the center dot in the shaded box (in blue color). Look at the Time (h) axis for their values. For Brand X it is 13 whereas for the Brand Y it is 16

(b) If we compare their median values we can see that the difference is 3 hours (16-13 = 3). It means that the Brand Y battery will last longer compared to Brand X battery as Brand Y lasts for 16 hours whereas Brand X battery lasts for 13 hours.
