Answer:

x = 1000

Step-by-step explanation:

Logarithms are just a base, exponent and answer, rearranged in a different order. No doubt you have seen "log" followed by a small font, low (subscript) number or letter, followed by a regular-size font number or letter. This is set equal to another number or letter. Your problem doesn't have that subscript (small font, low on the line) When this is not written, it is understood to be a 10. So your problem, rearranged to look like an exponent is:

10^3 = x

10 to the 3rd power is 10×10×10 which is

1000.

A gas at standard temperature and pressure was measured as having a mass of 1485 grams (g) in a volume of 750 liters (L). Which
tangare [24]

Answer:

Here we will use the relation:

Density = mass/volume.

We know that:

Mass = 1485g

Volume = 750L

Density = 1485g/750L = 1.98 g/L

We do not have the options in order to select the correct one, but knowing this density, we can suppose the possible gases.

Two "common" gases with densities similar to this one are:

Carbon Dioxide, with d = 1.977 g/L

Dinitrogen Monoxide, with d = 1.977 g/L

In both cases, if we round up we will get the same density that we calculated at the beginning, so either of these can be the correct option.

Find the 9th term of the geometric sequence 6,-24,96...

spin [16.1K]

Answer:

A9 = 393216

Step-by-step explanation:

the first thing that will help you solve this question is finding the common ratio between each terms

the first thing that I like to do that usually helps is to take the second term (-24) and divide it by the first term (6) --> this will usually help you spot the common ratio fairly quickly

in your case, the common ratio is -4

- you can also check this by following my note above and then multiplying the second term by the common ratio to see if it matches the third term, which it does!

so now you can go about this two different ways

1. solve directly for the 9th term

2. use the nth term formula for geometric sequences

METHOD 1:

if you continue to multiply by -4 to solve for each term you would end up with:

6, -24, 96, -384, 1536, -6144, 24576, -98304, 393216

and you will recieve 393216 as your answer

METHOD 2:

the nth term formula is An = A1*r^(n-1)

where An = the nth term of the sequence

A1 = first term of the sequence (6)

and r = common ratio

using this formula, you would get:

A9 = 6(-4)^8

A9 = 393216

I hope this helped :)

How do you solve for a missing component x ? 180:x::12:24
VMariaS [17]
So, what it is saying in words is 180 is to x as 12 is to 24. So, determine what relates the second half of the problem, which would be 12 is half of 24. Therefore, 12 times 2 is 24. So, x is 360 because 180 times two is 360.
