Answer: (1) 1.0 L of Ne

Explanation: According to Avogadro's law, 1 mole of every gas occupy 22.4 Liters at STP and contains avogadro's number 6.023\times 10^{23} of particles.

Avogadro's Law: This law states that volume is directly proportional to the number of moles of the gas at constant pressure and temperature.

V\propto n (At constant temperature and pressure)

Thus equal volumes contain equal number of atoms.

Hence, 1.0 liter of helium contains the same total number of atoms as

1.0 L of Ne at STP.

The answer is (1) 1.0 L of Ne. The gases under same condition with same volume have the same molar number. And the question is asking the number of atoms. Because the elements given all have same number of atoms when having same molar number.

If 2 objects have the same volume, but one has more mass than the other, are the densities the same or different? Explain
laiz [17]

The one with higher mass has a higher density because it fits more mass into the same amount of space (volume).

How can Newton's Third Law of Motion be used to explain why it is difficult to walk on a slippery surface, such as ice?
Olenka [21]
E ground pushes you forward. But that interaction is friction. Reduce friction and it doesn't matter how strong your legs are, the surface is incapable of pushing you accordingly. The coefficient of static friction is very low so it is easy to slide your foot rather than push.

Should we only write condensed formula in chemical equations (for lessons like carbon and compounds). What did your teachers say
Firlakuza [10]

Answer:

Here's what I get.

Explanation:

 • If your teachers don't ask for a specific type of formula, a condensed structural formula should be OK.
 • If they ask specifically for a structural formula or a bond-line formula, that is what you must give.

Bottom line: ask your teachers in advance what they expect.

Which element does X represent in the following expression: 2512X?

I bet this is the notation used in nuclear reactions. The superscript represents the mass number while the subscript represents the atomic number of the element X. So, we find the element with an atomic number of 12. That would be Magnesium or Mg.
