Mathematics

Answer:

x= -25/4

Step-by-step explanation:

Simplify both sides of the equation:

-4(1.75+x)=18

(-4)(1.75)+ (-4)(x)=18 | Distribute

-7+-4x=18

-4x-7=18 | Then solve.

Add 7 to both sides:

-4x-7+7=18+7

-4x=25

Then divide both sides by -4

Solving literal equations
Solving for y
-x + 3y = -6
Anna [14]

Since y is the variable, x is considered here as a constant.

Then :

-x + 3y = -6

we add x in both left side and right side of the equation :

-x + x + 3y = -6 + x

3y = -6 + x

Then we divide both side by three :

3y / 3 = (-6+x) /3

y = (-6+x)/3

y = -6/3 + x/3

y= -2 + x/3

Pancho, Sonia, and May got some candy eggs at a party. Pablo had three times as many eggs as Sofia, and Sofia had twice as many
iren2701 [21]
Let us assume the number of eggs Mia had = x
Then
The number of eggs that Sofia had = 2x
Number of eggs that Pablo had = 3* 2x
                                                   = 6x
Now firstly we have to find that the
number of eggs that they all should have to be equal = (x + 2x + 6x)/3
                                                                                     = 9x/3
                                                                                     = 3x
Now we already know that Pablo has got 6x eggs with him. Now he has to give the eggs in such a manner that all three will have the same number of eggs.
So
The number of eggs Sofia already has = 2x
Then
The number of eggs that Pablo needs to give to Sofia is equal to x. Then the number of eggs with Sofia becomes 3x.
The number of eggs that Pablo needs to give to Mia is 2x as Mia has x number of eggs. After giving them away Pablo will also have 3x eggs left with him. So all three will have equal number of eggs.
