They would need to by 3 more tickets. 214 divided by 9 = 23 with the remainder of 3. So I divided 217 by 9 = 23. I added 3 to 214 which got a whole answer 23.

I hope I helped.

How can I solve |2x - 5| = 4?
Ray Of Light [21]

well, you already know an absolute value expression has a ± siblings, so let's proceed without much fuss.

\bf |2x-5|=4\implies  \begin{cases} +(2x-5)=4\implies 2x=9\implies x=\cfrac{9}{2}\\[-0.5em] \hrulefill\\ -(2x-5)=4\implies 2x-5=-4\\[1em] 2x=1\implies x=\cfrac{1}{2} \end{cases}

How do you graph y=-3x+4
Art [367]

It's a linear function. The graph is a straight line, therefore we need only two points.

Select any value of x and calculate the value of y:

y = -3x + 4

for x = 0 → y = -3(0) + 4 = 4 → (0, 4)

for x = 2 → y = -3(2) + 4 = -2 → (2, -2)

fgiga [73]

Answer:

\sqrt{-6 + \frac{y}{3}} = x

Step-by-step explanation:

y = 18 + 3x²

- 18 - 18

__________

\frac{-18 + y}{3} = \frac{3x^2}{3} \\ \\ -6 + \frac{y}{3} = x^2 \\ \\ \sqrt{-6 + \frac{y}{3}} = x
