The slope is -1/5 . When you have two points, the slope of the line through both of them is (difference in y) ÷ (difference in x) . You did it the other way around, and got the reciprocal. ( 1 / slope )

Simplify 2 + 3/5x - 1 - 1/5x
tankabanditka [31]
The answer would be c. because 2-1= 1 and 3/5x - 1/5x= 2/5x. All adding up to 1+2/5x.

The function f ( x ) = 2 ⋅ 5 ^x can be used to represent an exponential growth curve. Which of the following points is NOT on th
12345 [234]

Answer:

Point (2, 20) does not lie on the given curve.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let us see explanation:

f(x) = 2. \:  {5}^{x}  \\  \\  \therefore \: f(x) \: at \: x = 2 \\ f(2) = 2. {5}^{2}  = 2.25 = 50 \\  \\ hence \: at \: x = 2 \:  \: f(x) = 50 \\  \therefore \:point (2 \:  \: 20) \: does \: not \: lie \: on \: the \: \\   \:  \:  \:  \:  \: curve.

How to find an equation for a line through two given points?
xz_007 [3.2K]

Answer:

The equation of the line is: y = 0.6x + 0.6

Step-by-step explanation:

Equation of a line:

The equation of a line has the following format:

y = mx + b

In which m is the slope and b is the y-intercept.

Two points:

We have these following two points in this exercise:

x = -6, y = -3, so (-6,-3)

x = 4, y = 3, so (4,3)

Finding the slope:

Given two points, the slope is given by the change in y divided by the change in x.

Change in y: 3 - (-3) = 3 + 3 = 6

Change in x: 4 - (-6) = 4 + 6 = 10

So

m = \frac{6}{10} = 0.6

Then

y = 0.6x + b

Finding b:

We replace one of the points in the equation to find b. I will use (4,3).

y = 0.6x + b

3 = 0.6*4 + b

2.4 + b = 3

b = 0.6

The equation of the line is: y = 0.6x + 0.6
