<span>Napoleon s allies, backed by his troops, staged a coup and seized control of the French government. Napoleon s dictatorship thus began in February 1800. In 1802, he was appointed head of state for life and in 1804 Napoleon crowned himself emperor.

During the Berlin Conference, it was "Belgium" who was granted control of the Congo Free State, under the command of King Leopold II from around 1885 to 1908.
The idea is known as the Republican form. The idea is that people democratically elect those who would represent them in a government, and those people would be held accountable for what they've done if they do something opposite to the will of the people. It's the only way that a democracy can work properly because others would be impossible with that many people.
