Answer:

<h2><u>Crystallization of solids</u></h2>

Explanation:

<h3>What is Crystallization?</h3>

Crystallization is a <u>technique</u> used for the purification of substances. A separation <u>technique</u> to <u>separate</u> solids from a solution.

Crystallization can be defined as <u><em>the </em></u><u><em>process </em></u><u><em>through which the </em></u><u><em>atoms/molecules</em></u><u><em> of a </em></u><u><em>substance </em></u><u><em>arrange themselves in a</em></u><u><em> well-defined</em></u><u><em> </em></u><u><em>three-dimensional</em></u><u><em> </em></u><u><em>lattice</em></u><u><em> and consequently, minimize the overall </em></u><u><em>energy </em></u><u><em>of the system.</em></u> When a substance is subjected to crystallization, its atoms or molecules <u>bind together</u> through <u>well-defined angles.</u>

On adding a solid substance in a liquid and stirring it, the solid <u>dissolves</u> in the fluid. But when adding more and more solid to the liquid, a <u>point</u> comes after which no more solid <u>dissolves</u> in the liquid. This point is called a <u>saturation point</u> and the fluid is called a <u>saturation solution</u>.

<u>Key words and phrases:</u>

saturation, crystallization, solids, liquids, substance, atoms, molecules, saturation solution, saturation point, purification, separation, solution, dissolve

After initially picking the stone up off the ground, a man exerts a 148 N force upwards on a 10 kg stone. What is the accelerati
Lubov Fominskaja [6]

Answer:

5m/s²

Explanation:

The force exerted on an object is calculated using the formula ;

F = ma

Note that the upward force (F) is 148N

Where;

F = force (N)

m = mass (kg)

a = acceleration (m/s²)

The downward force towards gravity is F' = mg

F' = 10 × 9.8m/s²

F' = 98N

Net force (F - F') = m × a

148 - 98 = 10 × a

50 = 10a

a = 50/10

a = 5m/s²

Determine the angle between the directions of vector a = 3.00i 1.00j and vector b = 1.00i 3.00j .
Katena32 [7]

The angle between the two vectors is 126° 52' 11".

The given parameters;

vector A = 3.00i + 1.00j

vector B = 1.00i + 3.00j

The angle between the two vectors is calculated as follows;

cos  \theta = \frac{A.B}{|A|.|B|}

The dot product of vectors A and B is calculated as;

A.B = ( 3i + 1j ) . ( 1i +3j )

      = ( 3 × 1 ) + ( 1  × 3 )

      = 3 + 3

      = 6

The magnitude of vectors A and B is calculated as;

|A|  = \sqrt[]{3^2 + 1^2} = \sqrt[]{10} \\

|B| = \sqrt[]{1^2 + 3^2} = \sqrt[]{10} \\

The angle between in two vectors is calculated as;

Cos \theta = \frac{6}{\sqrt[]{10}\sqrt[]{10}  } \\\\Cos \theta = \frac{6}{\ 10 }\\\\Cos \theta = 0.6\\\\\theta = cos^-^1 (0.6)\\\\\theta = 126\\

Therefore, the angle between the two vectors is 126° 52' 11".
