The number of moles of NaOH required to produce 3.5 moles of hydrogen, H2 can be obtaine as follow:

From the balanced equation above, 6 moles of NaOH reacted to produce 3 moles of H2.

Therefore, Xmol of NaOH will react to produce 3.5 moles of NaOH.

Xmol of NaOH = (6 x 3.5)/3

Xmol of NaOH = 7 moles

Therefore, 7 moles of NaOH are required.

150 \times \frac{1}{2}=24.1

75 \times \frac{1}{2} =48.2

34.5 \times \frac{1}{2} =72.3

17.25 \times \frac{1}{2} =96.4

8.625\times \frac{1}{2} =120.5

So after 120.5 days the amount of sample that remains is 8.625g

In simpler way , we can use the below formula to find the sample left

A=A_{0} \cdot \frac{1}{2^{n}}
