this means that every dollar is worth 5%

- now leaving that aside, subtract 20$ by 13$, it should give you 7$

2--13 = 7

the reason you do this is because since we're looking for the amount reducted, you have to subtract from the beginning amount.

- Finally, with the knowledge gathered, you multiply 5% by the 7$ that were deducted, it should give you 35%

7(5) = 35

The reason we did this is because every dollar is worth 5% and there were 7$ deducted, it results in 35% reduced.
