16. Explain how a child's social environment affects his or her development.
kondaur [170]

If a child does not have the proper nurture that is required they will not develop properly. If they live a life of isolation their brain will develop without the essential social skills they need and once the brain is too developed you cannot change what it thinks. The child will not be able to do things like form complete grammatically correct sentences or phrases and will be physically, mentally, and emotionally behind everyone else that is around them when they are reintroduced into society. This is also known as a feral child.

Karen has been suffering from a disorder that is characterized by exaggerated and irrational worry that tends to interfere with
statuscvo [17]

Hello there! It sounds like Karen is suffering from GAD, or Generalized Anxiety Disorder.

GAD is defined as "Severe, ongoing anxiety that interferes with daily activities." That can refer back to the text saying her worry "tends to interfere with her daily functioning."  Along with that, the symptoms she's experiencing, stomach aches and insomnia, are also symptoms of high levels of anxiety, so it sounds like this is what she'd be diagnosed with by a medical professional, if she went to one.

I hope this helps and have a great rest of your day!
