Two trains, each having a speed of 33 km/h, are headed at each other on the same straight track. A bird that can fly 60 km/h fli

es off the front of on train when they are 60 km apart and heads directly for the other train. On reaching the other train, the (crazy) bird flies directly back to the first train, and so forth. What is the total distance the bird travels before the trains collide?

Answer:

66 km

Explanation:

Given that:

The speed of the two trains = 33 km/h

The speed of the bird = 60 km/h

The distance apart between the two trains = 60 km

From the given information, we are being told that the two trains are going at the same speed. Therefore, they will definitely collide at 30 km

We know that:

speed of the train = distance traveled × time

Making the time t the subject of the formula:

time = speed of the train / distance traveled

time = 30 km / 33 km/h

time = 0.909 / hr

Thus, the bird flying at a given speed of 60 km/h in a time of 0.909 / hr will cover a total distance of :

distance (d) = speed of the bird/ time

distance (d) = \dfrac{60 \ km/hr}{0.909 \ /hr}

distance (d) = 66 km

Amy has a mass of 30 kg and she is riding a skateboard traveling 5 m/s.whats her momentum?
mina [271]
You always multiply the mass (kg) by the velocity at which the object is travelling (m/s) to get the momentum (kg m/s) thus: 30 × 5 = 150 kg m/s

Rhea kicks a soccer ball at 13km/h to Sean after kicking the ball the speed of the soccer ball from Rhea reference frame is 13km
Zinaida [17]

Answer:

Sean is standing still, and Rhea is running toward Sean while kicking the ball.

Note: The question is in complete. The complete question is given below:

Rhea kicks a soccer ball at 13 km/h to Sean. After kicking the ball, the speed of the soccer ball from Rhea's reference frame is 13 km/h. The speed of the soccer ball from Sean's reference frame is 22 km/h. Which conclusion is best supported by the information?

Sean is standing still, and Rhea is running toward Sean while kicking the ball.

Rhea is standing still after kicking the ball, and Sean is running away from Rhea.

Both soccer players are standing still after the ball is kicked.

Both soccer players are running while the ball is in motion.

Explanation:

A reference frame is a position from which something is observed.

Since from the reference frame of Rhea, the ball is moving at a speed of 13 km/h after he kicks the ball at a speed of 13km/h whereas from the frame of reference of Sean, the ball is moving at a speed of 22km/h, there is a difference in the speed of the ball as seen from Rhea's and Sean's frame of reference of about 9 km/h. This difference can only be due to relative motion between the ball and Rhea.

Therefore, the best conclusion supported by the given information is that Sean is standing still, and Rhea is running toward Sean while kicking the ball.

(a) How can a driver steer a car traveling at constant speed so that the acceleration is zero? (Assume that the road is level. S
PilotLPTM [1.2K]

Explanation:

(a) We know that the acceleration of the car is given by :

a = change in speed / time taken

If the speed of the car is constant in a straight line, the acceleration of the car is zero because there is no change in the speed of the car.

(b) For the driver steer a car traveling at constant speed so that the magnitude of the acceleration remains constant, the driver should drive the car in the circular path. This is because, in circular path the speed of an object remains the same while its velocity changes.

What is the name of the quantity represented by the symbol ω?
Strike441 [17]

Answer:

angular velocity

Explanation:

In physics the quantity represented by \omega is the angular velocity, the units of the angular velocity are radians/second.

This is a quantity that represents the speed when the movement of an object follows a circular path.

Mathematically defined as follows:

\omega = \frac{2\pi}{T}

Where T is the period, the time it takes to complete a lap.
