Carbon dioxide :increased or decreased why and when

Chemistry
1 answer:

During the day or in spring and summer, plants take up more carbon dioxide through photosynthesis than they release through respiration , and so concentrations of carbon dioxide in the air decrease. Then at night or during autumn and winter, plants reduce or even stop photosynthesising, releasing carbon dioxide back into the air. This is often called the natural carbon cycle.

Name two fluid technologies that make use of air
nika2105 [10]

Answer: Refrigerator and fire extinguisher

Explanation: Refrigerator:An evaporator fan draws air from the refrigerator and blows it over the evaporator coils. The liquid refrigerant absorbs heat from the air and the air blows back into the refrigerator at a lower temperature, cooling the refrigerator. The liquid refrigerant starts to vaporize as it heats up and moves to the compressor.

Fire extinguisher:They work by smothering the fire: when you put a layer of powder or foam on the fire, you cut the fuel off from the oxygen around it, and the fire goes out. Carbon dioxide (CO2) extinguishers contain a mixture of liquid and gaseous carbon dioxide (a nonflammable gas).

What is the solubility (in g/L) of calcium fluoride at 25°C? The solubility product constant for calcium fluoride is 3.4 × 10–11
PilotLPTM [1.2K]

<u>Answer:</u> The correct answer is Option b.

<u>Explanation:</u>

The balanced equilibrium reaction for the ionization of calcium fluoride follows:

CaF_2\rightleftharpoons Ca^{2+}+2F^-

                s       2s

The expression for solubility constant for this reaction will be:

K_{sp}=[Ca^{2+}][F^-]^2

We are given:

K_{sp}=3.4\times 10^{-11}

Putting values in above equation, we get:

3.4\times 10^{-11}=(s)\times (2s)^2\\\\3.4\times 10^{-11}=4s^3\\\\s=2.04\times 10^{-4}mol/L

To calculate the solubility in g/L, we will multiply the calculated solubility with the molar mass of calcium fluoride:

Molar mass of calcium fluoride = 78 g/mol

Multiplying the solubility product, we get:

s=2.04\times 10^{-4}mol/L\times 78g/mol=159.12\times 10^{-4}g/L=0.015g/L

Hence, the correct answer is Option b.

A postulate of the kinetic molecular theory is listed.
valina [46]

Answer:

Postulate: Gas particles are extremely small and are far apart.

The activities can be used to demonstrate the postulate is :

<u>Observing colored gas spreading into an inverted jar placed on top of a jar containing the gas</u>

<u />

Explanation:

colored gas spreading into an inverted jar placed on top of a jar containing the gas:

This occur because of two reasons:

1. <em><u>The Gaseous particles are largely spaced . There is large distance between the gases molecule</u></em>

<em><u>2. The gases are in continuous motion . Hence they posses very high kinetic energy . This is the reason they mixes quickly if placed in a jar.</u></em>

<em><u>This occur by the process of diffusion. </u></em>

Diffusion of Gases: The intermixing of particles from the region of high concentration to low concentration.

The coloured gas goes into the space between the gaseous molecule present in the jar.(Gases are far apart)

As soon as the coloured gas is mixed in the jar , It spread quickly by diffusion because , The gaseous particles are extremely small and are far apart.
