Answer:

4.5 or 5.2

approximately 5

Step-by-step explanation:

since \: it \: took \: \\ 72 \: seconds \: to \: do \: 16 \: push \: ups \\ 72 \div 16 = 4.5 \: approximately \: \\ = 5 \: seconds\: per \: push \: up \\ 2nd \: comparison \: \\ 57 ÷ 11 = \\ 5.8111111 \\ = 5.2(to \: 1 \: decimal) \\ approximately \: \\ 5 \\ \: so \: it \: takes \: 5 \: seconds

An article in the November 1983 Consumer Reports compared various types of batteries. The average lifetimes of Duracell Alkaline
Allushta [10]

Answer:

The mean is of -0.4 hours.

Step-by-step explanation:

To solve this question, we need to understand the central limit theorem and subtraction of normal variables.

Central Limit Theorem

The Central Limit Theorem establishes that, for a normally distributed random variable X, with mean \mu and standard deviation \sigma, the sampling distribution of the sample means with size n can be approximated to a normal distribution with mean \mu and standard deviation s = \frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}}.

For a skewed variable, the Central Limit Theorem can also be applied, as long as n is at least 30.

Subtraction between normal variables:

When two normal variables are subtracted, the mean is the difference of the means, while the standard deviation is the square root of the sum of the variances.

Mean of the sample of 64 Duracell:

By the Central Limit Theorem, 4.1 hours.

Mean of the sample of 64 Eveready:

By the Central Limit Theorem, 4.5 hours.

Mean of the difference?

Subtraction of normal variables, so we subtract the means.

4.1 - 4.5 = -0.4

The mean is of -0.4 hours.

I don't understand the bottom with 1/2= and 0.48=! It says find the corresponding equivalent for either the decimal or fraction
zepelin [54]
So basically, you have to find the decimal that equals 1/2 and the fraction that equals 0.48, but it has to be in simplest form. If you divide 1 by 2, you get 0.5, which would be the answer to 1/2=. For 0.48=, you would start by putting 48 over 100 because if you read the decimal aloud, it is 48 hundredths and 0.48 goes to the hundredths place. Then, you would begin to simplify 48/100. A common divisor for those 2 numbers is 2, but you could also use 4. I am going to use 4, so 48/100=12/25. Now that you have the fraction 12/25, look to see if there are any common factors. There are none, so 0.48=12/25.
Hope this helps!! :)

a gym membership costs $25 to join and $14 each month. Write and use and algebraic expression to find the cost of the membership
Klio2033 [76]
So the equation format you will be using is y=mx+b. m = slope and b = y int.
So since to join the membership you have to pay $25.00 that will be your y int. Because that is the balance you are starting with. And then since the times you are paying each month are remaining constant, your slope will be $14. Finally x = months or time. So your equation will be y=14(6)+25 or y=14x+25
